‘The role of all institutions involved in the electoral process is to fulfil their constitutional mandate,’ explained the deputy chief of the EU EOM, Tania Marques, on Canal 11’s Honduras Decide programme.

She added that ‘each institution has its role in the elections, and that is what we as observers are analysing’. 

‘The CNE is the entity responsible for administering the operations of the electoral process; it is the institution that announces the preliminary results and the official declaration of the elections,’ emphasised Tania Marques. 

In this regard, she said that ‘we must focus on the facts we see, on what is there, and not on misinformation.’

‘Misinformation is dangerous; we have to focus on what we actually know, and that is that the electoral materials are arriving at the departmental councils. In the coming days, they will also be transferred to the municipal councils and then to the polling stations,’ concluded the deputy chief of the EU EOM.
