First meetings of the EU EOM Honduras 2025

 

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) arrived in Honduras on 11 October. On the morning of 13 October, the Mission's Core Team, led by its Deputy Chief, Tania Marques, met with the full board of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to make initial contact and learn about the preparations for the country's general elections. 

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Chief of the EU EOM addressed the press.

The following day, Tania Marques held an informative meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Torres Zelaya at the Honduran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during which she highlighted the Mission's methodology, which on election day, 30 November, will consist of more than 100 observers from European Union member states, as well as Norway and Canada.
