Francisco Assis is the Chief of the EU EOM Honduras 2025

The Chief of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) in Honduras 2025 is Francisco Assis. He has been a member of the Portuguese Parliament on several occasions and is currently serving his third term as a Member of the European Parliament (2004-2009, 2014-2019 and since 2024). He was Chair of the European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with Mercosur between 2014 and 2019.
He will arrive in Honduras on 25 October for his first visit to the country as Chief Observer.
The EU EOM has been in Honduras since 11 October and on election day will be made up of more than 100 observers.
