Shortly after election day EU EOM Timor-Leste´s Chief Observer (CO) Mr. Domenec Ruiz Devesa presented the mission's preliminary statement in Dili. CO briefed the media on development of the elections and informed them that the Euroepan Union Election Observation Mission Timor-Leste 2022 has been present in the country since mid-February to observe the electoral process in a comprehensive manner. On election day, more than 40 EU observers reported from over 174 polling stations across the 12 municipalities and the Special Administrative Region of Oecusse-Ambeno.
