Working with EU partners for the stability of the Sahel
Integrated Approach of the EU in the Sahel means working together with other members of the European family engaged for peace and security in the region.
This is why the RACC has supported a working visit of a team of EUTM Mali colleagues to Mauritania, from 11 to 14 October.
EUTM officers from several EU countries drop in the G5 Sahel Defence College and the RACC HQ, where they received briefings useful for their assessment of the local working, security, and medical support conditions, in view of EUTM’s participation in the forthcoming pre-deployment training of the next rotation of the G5 Sahel Joint Force Headquarters. On 13 October, the EUTM team also attended the official launching ceremony of the EU financed program ACLEP G5 (Programme d’Appui aux Composantes Légales et Prévotale de la Force Conjointe) on how to strengthen and revitalise the capacity of the G5 Sahel Cooperation Platform for Security (PCMS) in the fight against cross-cutting threats for region, particularly terrorism and transnational organised crime, taking place in the Mauritanian capital.
The organisation of the workshop was supported by the RACC.
