This is where Officiers de Police Judiciaire (OPJ) play an essential role.
Within the Central African Police and Gendarmerie, OPJs are at the heart of criminal investigations. They establish offences, gather and preserve evidence, interview victims, witnesses and suspects, prepare judicial procedures and work with the competent judicial authorities to ensure that cases can be properly investigated and prosecuted.
Their effectiveness therefore matters far beyond the individual investigation. Strong police judiciaire capacities help turn security operations into credible judicial action, strengthening the essential link between security and justice.
This is why developing OPJ capacities is an important part of EUAM RCA’s partnership with the Central African Internal Security Forces (FSI).
Working alongside the Police and Gendarmerie, EUAM RCA supports officers in strengthening their knowledge of criminal procedure, investigative techniques and professional standards. The objective goes beyond training individuals: it is to contribute to more capable, professional and accountable security institutions, able to respond effectively to the security needs of the population.
