The closing ceremony of the training sessions for the Internal Security Forces (FSI) on securing the electoral process took place on 12 December 2025 at the National Police School in Bangui. The event brought together national authorities, trainers, trainees, and international partners, marking the conclusion of a nationwide capacity-building program supported by EUAM RCA, the French Embassy in the Central African Republic, MINUSCA and UNDP.
Implemented under full national ownership, the program was led by Central African institutions, with international partners providing technical support through the training of trainers, as well as assistance in the organization, development of curricula, program design and logistical coordination. The trained national instructors subsequently delivered the sessions, reaching 836 elements of the National Police and National Gendarmerie across the country. The trainings were conducted in preparation for upcoming electoral milestones, including four elections to be held on the same day: presidential, legislative, regional and local elections.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of the National Police School thanked EUAM RCA and the other partners for their continued and unwavering support. He underlined that programs of this nature are essential for the National Police and the National Gendarmerie, particularly at such a crucial moment for the country in view of the upcoming elections, and expressed his confidence in the continued support of partners for future initiatives.
The Head of Mission of EUAM RCA stated:
“Supporting the Internal Security Forces through strategic advice and capacity-building, while fully respecting national ownership, is essential to strengthening their ability to serve and protect the population and to play a key role in guaranteeing safety and security during the electoral process. Together with our partners, we remain committed to reinforcing sustainable security capacities under national leadership.”
