EU-DE-CF Strengthening European Partnerships for Security in the Central African Republic

 

EUAM RCA Head of Mission met with Ms. Maike Weitzel, First Secretary for Security Affairs at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Cameroon, for an exchange on the security situation in the Central African Republic and on the Mission’s mandate in supporting the country’s internal security forces. The discussion focused on ongoing reforms, challenges on the ground, and the Mission’s efforts to strengthen leadership, coordination, and professionalism within the police and gendarmerie, along with the other internal security partners with whom the Mission closely collaborates.

The Mission expressed its appreciation for Germany’s continuous support to EUAM RCA and highlighted the essential role played by EU Member States in reinforcing the Mission’s impact. As the Head of Mission noted: “Support from partners like Germany is crucial to sustaining our work and advancing security sector reform. Together, we are contributing to greater stability and long-term resilience for the Central African Republic.”
