The Head of Mission of EUAM RCA received Brigadier General Apostolescu, incoming Mission Force Commander of EUTM RCA, ahead of his assumption of command this week. The meeting underscored the continuity of cooperation between the two EU missions and their shared commitment to a coherent European Union approach in the Central African Republic.
Accompanied by the outgoing Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General Claudiu-Mădălin Tamaș, Brigadier General Apostolescu met with the Head of Mission and the EUAM RCA team to discuss ongoing cooperation and the complementary roles of the two missions in supporting security and defence sector reform.
The discussions focused on maintaining close coordination during the leadership transition and building on established cooperation between EUAM RCA and EUTM RCA. Operating under distinct but complementary mandates, the two missions work alongside Central African partners to strengthen national capacities and contribute to sustainable security and stability.
The change of command at EUTM RCA provides an opportunity to ensure continuity while looking ahead to further cooperation in support of Central African priorities and a coherent European Union engagement in the country.
EUAM RCA looks forward to continuing its close partnership with Brigadier General Apostolescu and his team, alongside EUTM RCA and the European Union Delegation, as part of the EU’s broader engagement in the Central African Republic.
