Effective security sector reform requires international partners to work towards shared objectives. In the Central African Republic, EUAM RCA, EUTM RCA and MINUSCA are reinforcing that coordination to support stronger and more sustainable security institutions.
EUAM RCA, represented by its Acting Deputy Head of Mission/Chief of Staff, met with the EUTM RCA Deputy Force Commander and MINUSCA representatives to discuss recent developments in the security sector and identify opportunities for closer coordination and greater synergies.
Discussions focused on recent institutional developments within the Ministry of Defence, including the reorganisation of the Roadmap Monitoring Committee and the establishment of the Joint Strategic Reflection Centre (CRSI).
As the European Union’s civilian security mission in the Central African Republic, EUAM RCA contributes its expertise in support of the country’s internal security forces. The Mission continues, in particular, to support the National Gendarmerie in strengthening its normative framework and institutional capacities, contributing to greater coherence across the wider security sector reform process.
Regular coordination between EUAM RCA, EUTM RCA and MINUSCA helps align international efforts, maximise complementary expertise and ensure more coherent support to Central African partners.
By connecting civilian and military expertise and working closely with international partners, the European Union is contributing to stronger, more effective and accountable security institutions in the Central African Republic.
