The Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission in the Central African Republic (EUAM RCA) joined H.E. the Prime Minister, Head of Government; H.E. the Minister of the Interior and Public Security; H.E. the Minister of National Defence and Army Reconstruction; the Director General of the National Gendarmerie; and senior Central African authorities at Camp Henri Izamo in Bangui for the graduation ceremony of the third class of the Gendarmerie’s Advanced Military Education Course.
Supported by EUAM RCA and the French Embassy in Bangui, the course represents an important milestone in the professional development of Gendarmerie officers, recognising the successful completion of their advanced military education and their preparation to assume greater command and leadership responsibilities.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of investing in advanced military education to strengthen the National Gendarmerie’s leadership capabilities and develop the professional expertise required to address security challenges and better serve the population.
“Our presence today reflects the strength of our partnership with the Central African authorities. Our shared ambition is to consolidate the progress achieved, strengthen the National Gendarmerie’s institutional capacities and support nationally led reform efforts,” said the Head of Mission of EUAM RCA.
Her participation reaffirmed the European Union’s continued commitment to supporting nationally led efforts to strengthen the Central African Republic’s internal security institutions.
Through strategic advice and institutional capacity-building, EUAM RCA works alongside the Central African authorities to advance the professionalisation of the Gendarmerie, strengthen institutional governance and develop sustainable national capacities, contributing to lasting security and stability in the Central African Republic.
