EUAM RCA joined the Central African people and national authorities on 13 August to mark the 66th anniversary of the independence of the Central African Republic, reaffirming the Mission’s commitment to a partnership built on trust, national ownership and shared responsibility for lasting security.
The celebrations were marked by an official military parade at Camp Kassai in Bangui, presided over by H.E. Professor Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Republic. The ceremony brought together senior national authorities, the EU Ambassador, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the international community.
EUAM RCA was represented by its Acting Head of Mission, Dr Silvia Chiarelli,, joining Central African and international partners on one of the country’s most important national occasions.
Beyond the celebrations, Independence Day is an opportunity to recognise the achievements and aspirations of the Central African people and the importance of nationally owned solutions for the country’s future.
This principle is at the heart of EUAM RCA’s work. Through strategic advice, training and close cooperation with its Central African counterparts, the Mission supports nationally defined priorities aimed at strengthening more effective, accountable and resilient security institutions.
