EUAM RCA, represented by its Head of Mission Gail Van Hoever, participated on 17 March 2026 in the high-level meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff (Grand COCEM) held in Bangui, bringing together key national and international security actors, including representatives of FACA, the National Police, the National Gendarmerie, MINUSCA and EUTM RCA.
The meeting provided an important platform to assess the evolving security situation and strengthen coordination across the security sector. Discussions focused on lessons learned from the security arrangements for the 28 December 2025 elections, the adaptation of MINUSCA’s operational posture, and the coordination of joint efforts to enhance security along the Chad–Central African Republic border.
Such exchanges are critical to improving operational coherence, strengthening coordination mechanisms and ensuring that security responses remain adapted to a complex and evolving environment.
As a civilian CSDP mission, EUAM RCA plays an active role in supporting dialogue and cooperation among security actors. Through its strategic advisory engagement and capacity-building support, the Mission contributes to reinforcing governance, interoperability and professional standards across the internal security sector, under full national ownership.
