The EUAM RCA Head of Mission met with Minister Gervais Mbata to reaffirm the strong partnership supporting environmental governance and security in the Central African Republic. The discussions focused on the fight against environmental crime, the protection of natural resources, and the strengthening of coordination among security actors responsible for the protection of forests and wildlife. Both parties underlined that environmental preservation is closely linked to the stability and security of communities.
Highlighting the Mission’s commitment, the Head of Mission stated: “Environmental security is an integral part of national security. By providing strategic advice, capacity-building and support to interoperability, we contribute to protecting both the population and the country’s natural heritage and, above all, to strengthening security.” Minister Mbata welcomed the continued cooperation and the sustained engagement of the European Union in this sector.
