The Head of Mission of EUAM RCA marked International Customs Day 2026 in Bangui by awarding a laptop computer to one of the best-performing customs officers, selected by the Director General of Customs, recognising outstanding service and daily commitment to protecting society.
Held under the theme “Customs protecting society through vigilance and commitment,” the ceremony concluded a week of activities highlighting the essential role of customs services in safeguarding public revenue, facilitating legitimate trade and strengthening state authority.
Ahead of the ceremony, the Head of Mission met with the Director General of Customs and Indirect Duties to commend the professionalism of customs officials and reaffirm EUAM RCA’s continued and reinforced cooperation. She also conveyed her congratulations to the Minister of Finance and Budget, underlining the EU’s strong partnership with Central African institutions.
The event brought together senior national authorities and partners, including the Head of Operations, the Mission’s Customs Adviser, and the Director General of the National Police. Several officers received certificates of merit or promotion insignia, reflecting the importance of recognising excellence in public service and strengthening accountable institutions.
