Inauguration of a permanent office of an EUAM RCA strategic interoperability advisor in the Central African Republic’s Customs Directorate General

"Trust is the first step towards acceptance within an organisation and therefore the possibility of working in direct contact with its representatives", says the Strategic Interoperability Advisor of EUAM RCA on the occasion of the office key handover in the Customs Hotel by its Director General.

It all started with the inauguration of the new Customs hotel by the President of the Central African Republic, in the presence of the Minister of Finance and other key figures from the Customs administration on 30 January in Bangui. The inauguration of the building coincided with the 2023 edition of the International Customs Day.

This presence at the heart of the Central African Customs decision-making centre will enable EUAM RCA to further facilitate the collaborative approach to interoperability between state security services. Innovative and structuring projects are underway, including the use of mobile mixed brigades in the field and the geolocation of goods.

"This office also allows the strategic advisor to be as close as possible to the Director General, to advise him on recruitment, training and detection equipment (scanners) and tracing equipment (goods tags)", adds the head of operations.

With the Central African customs administration approximately 30% female, the EUAM RCA strategic advisor feels entirely at home. "The road to the implementation of all these interoperability projects is long, but exciting," she concludes with a smile.
