A new Director General at the helm of the Central African National Police opens a new chapter in its longstanding partnership with EUAM RCA. Meeting for the first time in Bangui, the Head of Mission of EUAM RCA and the newly appointed Director General of the National Police, Contrôleur Général de Police Armel Baraba, shared a clear ambition: build on what works and take the cooperation further.
The partnership already has solid foundations. EUAM RCA works alongside the National Police through two complementary priorities: strategic advice and training, combining institutional support with the development of professional skills.
Strategic advice aims to accompany the National Police in sustainably strengthening its institutional capacities, guided by the priorities it identifies. On training, discussions focused on three areas: Judicial Police Officers (OPJ), command and leadership, and human resources management. The two sides also explored how digital skills could be further integrated into future training activities.
At the heart of this cooperation is local ownership. EUAM RCA’s support is shaped by the priorities and needs identified by its Central African partners, ensuring that strategic advice and training respond to national needs and contribute to capacities that can be sustained over time.
“Our partnership with the National Police is built on trust, local ownership and a shared commitment to lasting results. Our role is to support the priorities of our Central African partners, invest in people and strengthen institutional capacities that will endure well beyond individual activities,” said the Head of Mission of EUAM RCA.
More than an introduction, the meeting reaffirmed a partnership built over time and a shared commitment to turn cooperation into stronger capacities, greater professionalism and sustainable institutional results.
A new leadership. A longstanding partnership. A shared ambition to move forward together.
