Security is stronger when institutions work together

How can the Police, Gendarmerie, Customs, Penitentiary Administration, Civil Protection services and other security actors operate as a coherent system?

This central question brought together senior representatives of Central African institutions at a workshop organised by the National Coordination for Security Sector Reform, with the support of EUAM RCA.

The Head of Mission of EUAM RCA, Gail Van Hoever, and Major General Bruno Ouayolo, Minister-Counsellor for Security Sector Reform at the Presidency of the Republic, took part in discussions focused on concrete results: clarifying responsibilities, addressing gaps and overlaps in competencies, strengthening information-sharing, and improving the conduct of joint operations and crisis response.

The recommendations developed during the workshop will contribute to the future Framework Law on the Internal Security System.

This is where EUAM RCA brings added value: combining strategic advice, technical expertise and institutional dialogue to help its Central African partners turn distinct mandates into coordinated action — and coordinated action into better protection for the population.
