EUAM RCA supports national efforts to strengthen transparency and legality in the forest sector by accompanying the competent authorities in improving procedures, strengthening institutional capacities, and promoting more effective control mechanisms. In close cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Forests, the Mission organized a three-week training course on a new digital tool enabling the registration of logging data, the calculation of due taxes, and the issuance of transport and export permits.
Following this training, an Export Timber Security Unit was established by the Ministry, and EUAM RCA provided IT equipment to strengthen its operational capacities. This initiative demonstrates the European Union’s continued commitment to institutional reforms, in close partnership with national authorities, for effective governance and the stability of the country.
