EUBAM Libya supports Libyan Law Enforcement agencies with Cyber and OSINT Capabilities
In an increasingly digital world, the battle against crime has expanded far beyond physical borders. To meet these evolving challenges head-on, the European Union Integrated Border Management Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM Libya) designed and delivered basic and advanced training courses on Open Source Intelligence Techniques (OSINT), which included Social Network Monitoring and Digital Investigation. Special focus was on the monitoring of the Darknet, which is also used by radicalized groups. The use of artificial Intelligence tools was also explored as they play an important role in modern investigative techniques.
The focus of the curriculum was to equip investigators with collection and analysis skills to gather and further analyse information available on the web. This is a cornerstone in supporting complex criminal investigations.
The training brought together various Libyan law enforcement agencies following the commitment of the Mission to facilitate and support inter-agency cooperation.
