EUBAM Rafah Highlights Digital Safety for Women and Girls at "Orange Coffee Morning"
As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence that concluded yesterday, EUBAM Rafah marked the campaign by hosting an “Orange Coffee Morning” in cooperation with the Palestinian General Authority for Borders and Crossings (GABC) in Jericho, West Bank.
This year’s campaign theme, “Ending Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” highlights an urgent and growing concern. Digital tools, including mobile phones, social media, and online platforms, are increasingly used to perpetrate harassment, cyberstalking, and intimidation. Despite this rise, nearly half of the world’s women and girls remain without legal protection from digital forms of abuse.
Border officials are often among the first to identify individuals at risk. Strengthening awareness of digital monitoring, online threats, and tracking can enhance the protection offered to women and girls facing potential harm.
EUBAM Rafah extends its appreciation to all participants for their engagement and for their commitment to promoting gender-sensitive, safe, and respectful border management. Together, we stand against all forms of digital violence.
