The Head of EUCAP Sahel Mali, Eugene Van Kemenade, briefed the EU Member States on the Missionโ€™s activities and the development of Maliโ€™s Security Sector Reform. 

Over the past six months the Mission continued its activities across a broad range of areas, including civilian crisis management, integrated border management, strengthening relations between the Internal Security Forces and the civilian population, access to justice and accountability, as well as the improvement of national training systems and human resources management.

In addition, progress was also made on infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening Maliโ€™s security framework and enhancing the capacities of its national partners in Bamako and in the regions, including Kayes, Sรฉlinguรฉ and Kourรฉmalรฉ.

The Head of Mission also expressed his gratitude to the experts deployed by the Member States for their support in implementing the Missionโ€™s mandate.
