EUCAP met with African border security forces and FRONTEX in Accra

At the plenary workshop of the Africa–Frontex Intelligence Community (AFIC Ilos – FRONTEX) in Accra, EUCAP’s border-management adviser presented the situation at Mali’s borders.

Mali shares 7,561 km of borders with seven neighbouring countries and currently has 18 operational border posts. The Mission supports its Malian partners in making digital systems for recording the movement of people operational, as well as in strengthening Integrated Border Management, notably by improving the security and functioning of border posts.

The AFIC Ilos – FRONTEX expert network has, for 15 years, facilitated the exchange of information on cross-border crime among partner countries, with tangible results.
