Bambara is one of the 13 official languages spoken in Mali. It is the most widely spoken language throughout the country. Millions of people speak Bambara as their mother tongue, and millions of people from other ethnic groups use it in their daily communication. It is also spoken in neighbouring countries such as Burkina Faso, Guinea Conakry and Côte d'Ivoire.
