15 Puntland Maritime Police Force Officers participate in 5th Maritime Domain Awareness Seminar of the year

Last week, the Mission’s Field Office in Puntland successfully delivered its 5th Maritime Domain Awareness training seminar of the year. 15 officers from the Puntland Maritime Police Force’s Maritime Police Unit participated in the seminar, which focused on strengthening Coast Guard functions, leadership, and operational capabilities to enhance the security of ports and the maritime domain.

Reflecting on the training, participant Abdijabar said: “The training strengthened my understanding of maritime jurisdiction, operational limits, and the lawful handling of suspects and detainees, enabling me to perform my duties more professionally and effectively.”

The seminar forms part of the Mission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Puntland’s maritime law enforcement capabilities, promote professionalism, and support the development of sustainable maritime security structures.
