EUCAP Head of Mission meets with Somaliland interlocutors

EUCAP Head of Mission, Maria-Cristina Stepanescu, visited Somaliland to meet several authorities and interlocutors, including the Minister of Justice, the Attorney General, the Coast Guard Commander, the Director of the Somaliland Counter-Piracy Coordination (CPC) and representatives of NAGAAD, a women network that advocates for women and children’s empowerment.

Ms Stepanescu’s two-day visit to Somaliland from February 26 to 28 2018 aimed to address issues such as Somaliland Coast Guard Law and its parliamentary progression. Further cooperation on law drafting workshops, human trafficking and migration trainings to be organised by the EU maritime capacity building Mission were discussed.
