Daily working tasks at the Somali Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in Mogadishu are now little easier thanks to EUCAP Somalia’s support that includes mentoring and advising, and more recently a donation of some IT equipment to law drafting officials.

A total of six laptops and desktops computers and one printer were donated to the MOJ on December 17th to enable officers also to work flexibly from home and when on duty trips, which was not possible before.

“The MoJ wants to thank EUCAP Somalia for the contribution to build up the law drafting capacity. The MoJ has requested several types of support, one of the main issues being IT equipment for the Policy and Legal Drafting Unit,” said the Director General of the Somali MoJ, Mohamed Abbi Hassan when receiving the items.

“The equipment is very much needed and makes the legal drafters’ work much easier and more flexible, as they can use the laptops also when travelling. Thank you and the MoJ welcomes EUCAP Somalia’s visits any time, support is still needed, and the initiative to organize law drafting training is also warmly welcomed,” Mohamed Abbi Hassan added.
