EUCAP Somalia Enhances Medical Response Capacity of Somali Federal Darwish Officers
From 6–11 June, EUCAP Somalia’s Police Unit delivered an Enhanced Medical Training Course for 21 Federal Darwish officers selected from Federal Darwish basic courses previously supported by the Mission. The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of police medics who will serve in future deployable teams, enhancing Federal Darwish’s ability to operate effectively in its areas of responsibility.
The course combined theory and practical exercises based on the Massive Haemorrhage, Airway, Respiration, Circulation, Hypothermia/Head Injury (MARCH) and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) protocol, equipping participants with critical lifesaving skills tailored to the operational realities of Federal Darwish deployments.
Throughout the training, participants demonstrated strong commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Feedback highlighted the course’s relevance and practical value, contributing to enhanced operational readiness and supporting Federal Darwish’s ability to carry out its duties more effectively.
