A delegation from EUCAP SOMALIA led by the Head of Mission Maria-Cristina Stepanescu met yesterday with His Excellency Mahdi Maxamed Guuleed, deputy prime minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, at Villa Somalia.

During the meeting, His Excellency and Mrs Stepanescu discussed global maritime security issues in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

Ms Stepanescu gave a presentation to the Deputy PM on the ongoing and future EU-led projects to assist the Federal Government and the Federal Member States in rebuilding their maritime security institutions.

In this task, EUCAP SOMALIA actively supports the Somali National Maritime Coordination Committee (NMCC) and the Maritime Security Coordination Committee (MSCC).
