EUCAP Somalia: Strengthening maritime security through regional cooperation

On 24 October, EUCAP Somalia’s Field Office Puntland facilitated a meeting in Bossaso between an EU CRIMARIO expert and senior officials from Puntland’s Ministry of Ports, Maritime Transportation and Maritime Crime Prevention.

The expert demonstrated the IORIS information-sharing platform and encouraged the Ministry to sign the Associate Licensing Arrangement, a key step towards strengthening maritime domain awareness, port security and connectivity with Somalia and the wider region.

Through the EU’s Integrated Approach, EUCAP Somalia continues to support stronger maritime security and regional cooperation.
