EUCAP Somalia Supports Puntland’s Participation in Regional Maritime Security Exercise

From 19–22 October, EUCAP Somalia’s Field Office Puntland supported 14 Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) Maritime Operations Centre officers in REGIONAL UNITY 26, a regional maritime security exercise organised by EU CRIMARIO.

Using the IORIS information-sharing platform, participants strengthened maritime domain awareness, information-sharing, inter-agency coordination and responses to incidents, including piracy and search and rescue (SAR).

EUCAP Somalia continues to strengthen PMPF operational capacity and regional cooperation in addressing shared maritime security challenges across the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Horn of Africa.
