In partnership with the Somali Police Force, EUCAP Somalia has funded and arranged the installation of 21 permanent hand-washing areas at police stations around Mogadishu, including hand-wash stations at the police academy. The stations aim to support the police in greater Covid-19 prevention and to also give community members visiting police stations greater confidence in hygiene standards. The hand-washing stations were handed over this week by EUCAP’s Head of Mission, Chris Reynolds, to Assistant Police Commissioner Osman Abdullahi, as part of a police academy site visit. The site visit also included a visit to the cadet dormitory which will house an additional 240 police cadets, and which is being refurbished by the Mission.
