EUCAP Supports Ongoing Capacity Building for Somaliland Coast Guard in Berbera

The new Head of Field Office Somaliland, along with a Maritime Adviser from EUCAP, monitored training sessions for the Somaliland Coast Guard (SLCG) which were held in Berbera.

During his visit, the Head of Field Office was introduced to SLCG officials at the Berbera base, including the Base Commander.

The training was focused on navigation and seamanship, aiming to ensure that the Mobile Training Unit maintains its knowledge and skills while also providing practical, hands-on instruction to other SLCG officers in Berbera.

As part of the training, members of the SLCG Mobile Training Unit were responsible for delivering training to 15 Coast Guard Officers, from Berbera, Maydh and Zaila.
