Strengthening Fire Safety Preparedness within the Somali Police Coast Guard

From 10–11 June 2026, EUCAP Somalia delivered a Basic Fire Safety Course for officers of the Somali Police Coast Guard Command (SPCGC) at the Coast Guard Headquarters in the Port of Mogadishu. 

The training enhanced participants’ awareness and practical knowledge of fire safety, covering key topics including fire prevention, fire alarms, evacuation procedures, firefighting techniques, and the safe use of fire extinguishers.

The course also included a walkthrough assessment of fire safety systems and building safety measures within the Coast Guard Headquarters, providing participants with hands-on learning opportunities. 

The activity was conducted with the full support of the Somali Police Coast Guard, which provided the training facilities and equipment, contributing to efforts to strengthen safety standards and operational preparedness.
