EUMA Forms the Mission’s First Youth Expert Group

EUMA is pleased to announce the launch of its Youth Expert Group (YEG), consisting of Armenian youth representatives from across Yerevan and border communities. The group was established in partnership with the Armenian Progressive Youth (APY) NGO and will help integrate youth perspectives into the Mission’s decision-making.

EUMA Youth experts are expressing their challenges in local communities.

8 June marked the first meeting of the group. The meeting was held in Alapars village jointly with APY and EUMA Head of Mission Ms. Satu Koivu, the Mission’s Gender Adviser and Project Officer. EUMA aims to continue collaborating with its YEG on a quarterly basis, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and idea generation between EUMA and the Armenian youth.

EUMA recognizes the critical value of youth expert groups in shaping policies, media engagement, and strategic approaches that reflect the realities, perspectives, and needs of young people. As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) Agenda, the Mission continues to identify and support diverse avenues for meaningful youth participation, including through its newly established Youth Expert Group.
