Meeting between the President of Germany and the Head of EU Mission in Armenia

Markus Ritter, the Head of the EU Mission in Armenia, met the German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his official visit to Armenia. 

Mr. Ritter provided an overview of the Mission's activities in Armenia and briefed on the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. He informed the President that Germany has the largest contingent - 23 members - in the Mission.

Mr. Ritter further noted that since the Mission's establishment, the number of border incidents between the two countries has significantly decreased.

Both the President and the Head of Mission underlined the importance of promoting peace and ensuring long-term stability in the South Caucasus.
