1st QRF of the Commandos of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces tests capabilities in Final Regeneration Exercise

Designed to bring the force closer to the demands of the operational environment, the exercise assessed its ability to plan, prepare and conduct operations in an integrated manner. Throughout the different phases, the Commandos employed their combat, command and control, logistical support and sustainment capabilities in a scenario tailored to the demands of the Northern Theatre of Operations, in Cabo Delgado. 

The exercise enabled the QRF’s ability to translate planning into action and adapt to a demanding and dynamic operational environment to be assessed, consolidating the skills required to maintain its operational effectiveness.

The completion of this exercise represents an important milestone in the 1st QRF’s regeneration cycle, contributing to the maintenance of its operational capability and the sustainment of its assigned missions in the Northern Theatre of Operations. 

Through the mentoring and assistance provided throughout this process, EUMAM MOZ continues to support the FADM in the sustainable enhancement of their capabilities and the maintenance of operational readiness, contributing to greater autonomy in the conduct and sustainment of their operations. 

This activity reaffirms the European Union’s continued commitment to supporting Mozambique in strengthening its defence capabilities through specialised training, mentoring and assistance, in accordance with International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law.
