Maputo, Mozambique — The Armed Defence Forces of Mozambique (FADM) have completed another crucial step in the development of their operational capabilities, with the conclusion of the 2nd Train-the-Trainers Programme for the Quick Reaction Forces (QRF), conducted by the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ).

Launched on 4 August 2025, the programme aimed to update and strengthen the skills of Mozambican instructors previously certified by the former European Union Training Mission in Mozambique (EUTM MOZ). Participants included instructors from the Marine Corps, Commandos, and the Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), representing the Navy, Army, and Air Force of Mozambique respectively.

The training covered modules on patrol techniques, tactics and procedures, amphibious and riverine operations, urban combat, communications, engineering, operational logistics, and tactical combat casualty care, among others. The ultimate goal is to enable the FADM to independently conduct future QRF training cycles, thereby consolidating their operational self-sufficiency.

The final certification exercise took place at Katembe Beach, featuring an operation involving Marines and Commandos, supported by TACP elements providing assistance to the ground forces. The exercise simulated the neutralisation of an insurgent checkpoint, showcasing the coordination and proficiency achieved throughout the programme.

The activity was attended by EUMAM MOZ Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Correia, and the Chief of Staff of the Mozambican Navy, Commodore Inácio Luís Vaz, who highlighted the dedication and progress of the Mozambican forces over recent months of training.
