EUMAM MOZ: Civil-Military action that transforms lives
Between January and June, the mission conducted several humanitarian initiatives in orphanages, schools, and support centres, in a concerted effort to promote the social and educational development of local populations.
The first activity took place on 23 January, with a visit to the Association of Friends of Children Orphaned by AIDS (AACOSIDA) in Matola. School supplies, toys, books, clothing, and footwear were donated, benefitting around 89 children, alongside the organisation of traditional games.

In March, EUMAM MOZ travelled to Katembe to donate food supplies to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Susa Primary School, which supports dozens of children from underprivileged communities.
In April, to mark Mozambican Women’s Day, a solidarity action was organised in cooperation with the Hixikanwe Association, in Maputo. Food and a refrigerator were donated, recognising the organisation’s work in supporting women and children affected by HIV and gender-based violence.
Later that month, to celebrate World Book Day, EUMAM MOZ, in partnership with the crew of the Italian Navy ship ITS Luigi Rizzo, conducted a CIMIC activity at Cumbeza Primary School (Grades 1 and 2) in Marracuene. Donations included books, toys, and snacks for the children.
On 1 June, to mark International Children’s Day, the mission visited the São Roque Mission Orphanage in Bela Vista, organising recreational activities and distributing food to around 100 children. On 3 and 16 June, EUMAM MOZ returned to the Esperança Orphanage, in Katembe, to deliver essential goods, including clothes, food, and bedding.
