EUMAM MOZ marks the end of the regeneration cycle of the 3rd Quick Reaction Force of the FADM Navy Marines
The ceremony was led by the EUMAM MOZ Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Pires Correia, and by the Inspector of the Mozambique Navy, Commodore Carlos Miguel de Castanheira e Cossa.
This cycle represented an essential step in strengthening the readiness, autonomy, and operational capability of the 3rd QRF, consolidating key skills to respond to current security challenges, particularly within the operational context in Cabo Delgado.
Throughout the regeneration process, the 147 marines of the 3rd QRF took part in several training, mentoring and supervision activities, progressing through different phases over time. The regeneration phase began with the Adaptation and Integration Phase, during which the principles of discipline, cohesion, esprit de corps and military values were reinforced. This was followed by the Technical and Tactical Training Phase, marked by demanding physical preparation exercises, individual combat training, movement techniques, shooting, communications, combat first aid and operational procedures.

The Collective Training Phase then followed, during which skills related to teamwork, planning and execution of operations, and response to quick-reaction situations were developed.
Finally, the marines of the 3rd QRF had to complete the Final Phase, marked by integrated exercises and operational evaluation, putting to the test all the knowledge acquired, as well as their leadership capacity, physical and psychological resilience and, above all, their determination to accomplish the mission.
Through this close support, EUMAM MOZ continued to assist FADM instructors and military personnel, promoting the consolidation of knowledge, the improvement of procedures and the progressive strengthening of the autonomous capacity of Mozambican forces.
The completion of the regeneration cycle of the 3rd Marine QRF represents another step in the European Union’s commitment to the sustainable strengthening of FADM capabilities, contributing to a more effective, coordinated and prepared response to security challenges.
EUMAM MOZ maintains its commitment to supporting the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces through specialised training, mentoring and supervision, promoting operational readiness, respect for human rights and the strengthening of security and stability in Mozambique.
