EUMAM MOZ marks the official launch of the regeneration of the 3rd QRF of the Mozambican Navy
The ceremony was led by the Mission Force Commander of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ), Commodore César Pires Correia, and attended by several military authorities, including the Head of the Communications Department of the Mozambican Navy, Captain (Navy) Quisito Alface.
This milestone represents a new phase in strengthening the operational capabilities of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) within an increasingly demanding and evolving security environment. The regeneration process aims to consolidate skills, reinforce readiness and ensure the sustainability of the 3rd QRF’s operational cycle.

In his address, the EUMAM MOZ Mission Force Commander underlined that the partnership between the European Union and Mozambique is built upon solid pillars of mutual respect and commitment, guided by a shared objective: peace and security. He further emphasised that EUMAM MOZ’s presence is not merely symbolic, but rather reflects active engagement, working side by side with Mozambican military personnel.
The regeneration of the 3rd QRF falls within the Mission’s current mandate, through which EUMAM MOZ continues to support the FADM in strengthening their capabilities, contributing to stability and security, particularly in Cabo Delgado Province.
