EUMAM MOZ Mission Force Commander Participates in Meeting Between the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation
EUMAM MOZ was invited to take part in the meeting, which took place yesterday, 11 May, in Maputo, with the aim of maintaining and strengthening relations and strategic coordination between the European Union (EU) and Mozambique.
This was the second time that the Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Pires Correia, was invited to participate in this meeting, representing EUMAM MOZ.
The EU and Mozambique have a longstanding partnership covering a wide range of fields, including the security and defence sector. In this regard, the EU supports the efforts of Mozambique in promoting peace in Cabo Delgado and its neighbouring provinces.
After the successful results of the European Union Training Mission Mozambique (EUTM MOZ) (2021-2024), the long-lasting EU military partnership with Mozambique continued with EUMAM MOZ, which aim is to ensure that the 11 Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) units of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM), trained by EUTM MOZ become self-sufficient, thus contributing to create a safer and more secure environment in Cabo Delgado.
EUMAM MOZ includes more than 80 military and civilian personnel from 12 nationalities.
