EUMAM MOZ participates in workshop on women’s role in peace operations
The Mission was represented by its Gender Advisor, Lieutenant-Colonel Dominik Horn, who delivered a presentation highlighting the pivotal role of women in peace operations. He emphasised that their participation is not only a matter of equal opportunities, but a proven asset to mission success — strengthening information gathering, improving communication, enhancing trust with local communities and contributing to stabilisation in areas where forces are deployed.
The Mission’s participation reflects the European Union’s commitment to integrating a gender perspective into military operations, ensuring that women are not only present in peacekeeping contexts but have real opportunities to assume leadership roles.

It focuses on the operational training cycle and maintenance, while also providing specialized training to enable the Mozambique Defence Armed Forces to become self-sufficient in the fight against insurgency.
