Maputo, Mozambique – On 21 October, the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) held another sexual education awareness session at Eduardo Mondlane Secondary School – Ferroviária, bringing together around 50 kids.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness among young people about the importance of sexual and reproductive health, providing them with knowledge to help them adopt responsible behaviours and make informed decisions.

During the session, key topics were addressed, including the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, teenage pregnancy prevention and the importance of access to information in promoting young people's health and well-being.

Beyond acquiring new knowledge, the activity aimed to encourage students to play an active role in raising awareness among their partners. In this regard, participants committed to sharing what they had learnt with their fellow students, contributing to a better-informed and more aware school community.
