FADM military complete EUMAM MOZ programme in Supply and Transport Management

Maputo, Mozambique – The first Training Programme in Supply and Transport Management, promoted by the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ), has come to an end. The programmes was delivered to 31 officers and sergeants from the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM).  

The closing ceremony was held at the FADM Military Driving School in Maputo, where the crucial role of training in strengthening logistical capabilities within increasingly demanding operational contexts was emphasised. The programme aimed to equip military personnel with key skills to ensure the effective movement, sustainment, and resupply of military forces — all vital components for the success of missions on the ground.

Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Lieutenant Denilton José publicly expressed his gratitude for the opportunity offered to all participants, highlighting that “these lessons will ultimately lead to an improvement in the quality of life of our troops.”  

In their speeches, Brigadier General Luís Barroso, Mission Force Commander of EUMAM MOZ, and Colonel Elias Mataruca, the current Director of the FADM Logistics Department, stressed that this training marks the beginning of a continuous process to strengthen logistical capabilities, with a direct impact on the forces’ autonomy and operational effectiveness.

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive European Union mission that supports the FADM’s training and maintenance cycle, while also delivering specialised training aimed at strengthening their capacity to combat insurgency.
