FADM Trainers recognized in closing ceremony

Katembe, Mozambique – The military personnel from the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) that participated in the refreshment under the Train-the-Trainers programme of the Quick Reaction Forces (QRF), were recognized today at the Closing Ceremony of this cycle. 

From the period of 22nd of April and 11th of July, together with the Mentors from the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) trainers from the Marines, of the Mozambican Navy, and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), of the Mozambican Air Force, put in practice a planned and conduct programme by EUMAM MOZ with the aim to keep Mozambican trainers improving their abilities and becoming capable of conduct the next QRF Training Cycles independently. 

Testing their skills on simulated amphibious operations, live-fire exercises, counterterrorism operations (including prisoner handling and tactical site exploitation), operations of recognition and air support, to capturing an insurgent checkpoint and hostile elements, the FADM trainers achieved a new milestone in this cycle on their operational capacity.

Present at the ceremony were the Katembe Independent Marine Corps Company Commander, Liutenant Commander Xavier António Madondo and EUMAM MOZ Chief of Staff, Colonel Lorenzo Del Signore, from the Italian Army, who took the opportunity to congratulate the participants highlighting the responsibility that the FADM trainers have in the resolutions off conflicts and that in every moment should be “proud to represent Mozambique and carry the Mozambican flag”.

The EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission with a mandate until June 2026. It focuses on the operational training cycle and maintenance, while also providing specialized training to enable the FADM to become self-sufficient in the fight against terrorism in Cabo Delgado.
