Protection of Human Rights: a priority for EUMAM MOZ
Under the theme “Ensuring Compliance and Protecting Human Rights through Strategic Partnerships,” the event served as a platform for reflection on the challenges and progress in integrating human rights within the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM).
The intervention appears in a context where challenges related to peace, security, and stability demand a high level of professionalism from the armed forces, emphasizing the role of military forces in promoting and respecting International Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law, and highlighting the importance of their integration into doctrine, training, planning, and the execution of operations, in a context of increasing operational demands.
“The progress made by Mozambique in terms of training, curriculum integration, and cooperation with international partners demonstrates a clear commitment to the institutional development of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) (…) EUMAM Mozambique is proud to contribute to this process”, stated EUMAM MOZ MFCdr during the Conference.
Participation in this conference reinforces EUMAM MOZ commitment to the continuous specialised training and the development of technical capabilities of the FADM, contributing to actions increasingly aligned with international principles.
