Maputo, Mozambique – Students from Josina Machel Secondary School took part in two sexual education lectures delivered by the doctor of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ), in an initiative aimed at promoting knowledge, prevention and the adoption of responsible behaviours related to sexual and reproductive health, today, June 24.

During the lectures, topics such as physical and emotional changes during adolescence, the importance of personal hygiene, the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, early pregnancy, and conscious and responsible decision-making were addressed.

The approximately 250 students who attended the lectures also had the opportunity to clarify doubts and ask questions in an open and relaxed dialogue environment.

The activity is part of a cycle of lectures that will take place over the coming weeks, organised by EUMAM MOZ in coordination with the HELPO Association. The initiative sought to reinforce the importance of accurate information as a fundamental tool for protecting young people’s health and well-being, promoting the adoption of healthy habits and mutual respect.
