On June 13, an AIR MEDEVAC was conducted, from MV VERBENA to HLMNS KAREL DOORMAN to transfer an injured seafarer after his ship was hit by an unlawful missile attack. Surgery was performed to save the individual’s life who is a citizen of Nepal. KAREL DOORMAN is a multipurpose ship with advanced medical capabilities provided both by the Netherlands and Sweden.
The life of seafarers and the freedom of high seas are not negotiable values and of paramount importance for ASPIDES.
