EUNAVFOR ASPIDES is a purely defensive operation that contributes to protecting civilian ships and crews navigating the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, supporting the flow of trade vital to millions of people in the region and beyond.
Since its launch in February 2024, Aspides mission has supported over 1960 merchant vessels, ensuring their safe transit and provided protection to more than 650 ships.
